        Lore & Questions

How does the dragon name generator work?

The Dragon Name Generator draws a root, a core and a tail syllable from the tongue of your chosen element, fuses them according to the voice you picked, smooths awkward sound clusters, then crowns the name with an epithet drawn from your dragon's temperament.

Is the dragon name generator free?

Yes. It is completely free, needs no account, and runs entirely in your browser.

Can I use these names in my novel or game?

Yes. Every name is generated fresh, and you are free to use it in books, tabletop campaigns, video games and any other creative work.

What is the difference between the voices?

Thunderous names end on hard tails such as -thrax and -gorn, Silken names flow into soft endings such as -yra and -essa, and Ageless names favour long, ceremonial forms.

Where are my saved names stored?

Saved names live only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing your site data empties the hoard.
